Randall is an Arizona native but spent most of his life in New Mexico. He comes from an agricultural heritage and grew up with his family operating cattle ranches around Silver City, New Mexico. He attended college at Central Arizona College in 1986 on a full-ride intercollegiate rodeo scholarship and qualified for the National College Rodeo finals twice in Bozeman, Montana while earning his associate's degree in Agricultural Science in 1988. He continued his rodeo career and competed regionally for two decades in Arizona and New Mexico. In addition to agriculture, he also worked extensively for 15 years as an electrical lineman responsible for maintaining electrical transmission lines throughout the state of New Mexico. He began his counseling career in 2015, pursuing an undergrad in Social Work at Arizona State University followed by a master’s degree in Addiction Counseling from Grand Canyon University. His history as a clinician entails working in residential treatment for 9 years, with clients in the throes of addiction. He believes in a multifaceted approach to treating addiction including holistic measures and viewing addiction through the lens of trauma. His history in residential treatment has offered exposure to a broad spectrum of disorders outside of the scope of addiction, and he believes that addiction is not always the primary problem but often the attempt to solve a problem. He is largely influenced by Jungian philosophies as well as research conducted by Gabor Mate. He incorporates components of Neurocognitive psychotherapy to help clients understand what is happening with the addicted brain so they may better understand the solution. Being in recovery himself affords him the benefit of using his education and personal experiences to provide a well-balanced view of addiction and recovery for the client.
